03/01/2013 – Dow Jones , S&P 500 and NASDAQ test key support levels.

Market review – Fri, Mar 1st ,2013 : The major indexes Dow Jones, S&P 500 and NASDAQ saw a gapped down open, posted heavy losses right away. But, they quickly found the bottom, and started to surge. As the rally was strong, the indexes recovered most of the losses within a couple of hours or so, into the trading session. After seeing a quick reaction in the late morning, the indexes surged again, and price in green. The indexes spent the rest of the day in an orderly sideways move, and held on to the narrow gains. All three indexes logged over +0.25%, as the trading day ended.

Volume: The trading volume came in mixed for the day, as it edged up slightly in the NYSE stock exchange, and receded in the NASDAQ. The mixed volume added luster to the today’s mild gains, either way.

Growth stocks: The leading growth stocks from our watch list had a constructive day, today. Though, the heavy volume decliners dominated most of the day, the gainer finally caught up and finished strong. Our Top 250 – Growth stock daily heat map also flipped with greener shade in the afternoon.

Recap: The indexes displayed over all a constructive action, today. They fought back the early sell-off, and ended the day with gains. The NASDAQ rebounded after testing the 50 day moving average level. The Dow Jones tested the 14,000 price level. So, the S&P 500 tested the 1,500 price level. The Dow Jones and S&P 500 shed the January 31st distribution day from their column. A couple more growth stocks also broke out, today. So, just trade on the side of the rally.
