03/05/2013 – Dow Jones makes all time high. S&P 500 and NASDAQ go for new 52 week high.

Market review – Tue, Mar 5th , 2013 : The major indexes Dow Jones, S&P 500 and NASDAQ saw a strong opening, and posted solid gains, right away. The indexes added some more gains, as the trading session progressed and reached new highs, around noon. They spent the rest of the trading session, in a sideways move and consolidated the gains. They also held on to the gains, until the end of the trading session, and finished the day on a stronger note. The NASDAQ outperformed the day with over +1% gains, and the Dow Jones and S&P 500 ended the day with closer to +1% gains.

Volume: The trading volume picked up pace both in the NYSE and NASDAQ stock exchanges, and came in heavier than yesterday’s level. Though, the volume increase was not that explosive, it’s still a good sign when the indexes reach the new high ground.

Growth stocks: The leading growth stocks from our watch list took the advantage of the positive trading climate, and had a great day. The heavy volume gainers led the pack, and only a handful of stocks made it to the decliners list. Our Top 250 – Growth stock daily heat map was also blanketed with greener shade, indicating a broad based buying.

Recap: The Dow Jones made a new all time high, today. The S&P 500 and NASDAQ made a new 52 week high. The NASDAQ also added a heavy volume accumulation day its column. The trading volume also not that bad. Many stocks from our Long-term stocks pick posted nice gains. So, the rally is slowly, but surely gaining the momentum. So, just stay tight, and trade on the side of the rally.
