03/08/2013 – Dow Jones , S&P 500 and NASDAQ go for another solid close.

Market review – Fri, Mar 8th ,2013: The major indexes Dow Jones, S&P 500 and NASDAQ saw a solid open, but the early rally ran into trouble, right away. The Dow Jones gave up all the gains. The S&P 500 and NASDAQ even priced in red. But, the sell-off got dried quickly as well, and the indexes started to rally back. The rally was slow, but steady. The indexes also came under some selling pressure at times, as the day progressed, but they still rallied. They also saw a bullish close, as they ended the day at the intraday highs.

Volume: The trading volume came in mixed for the day, as it increased in the NYSE stock exchange than yesterday’s level, but decreased in the NASDAQ. The heavy volume trading added some luster to the Dow Jones and S&P 500’s gain.

Growth stocks: The leading growth stocks from our watch list had little tough time in the early going, but the heavy volume gainers took the lead in the afternoon. Only a handful of stocks ended up staying in the decliners list, as well. Our Top 250 – Growth stock daily heat map was blanketed with greener shade, indicating a broad based buying.

Recap: The indexes overall had another constructive day. They fought back the early sell-off, and went for a bullish close. The Dow Jones made another record high. The S&P 500 and NASDAQ continued the new 52 week closing. Though, the growth stocks are not firing on full cylinders, they are making decent moves. So, the rally is getting the steady boosts from all fronts. So, just stay tight and steer the speculative ship in the direction of the rally, i.e. is going “Long”.
