03/11/2013 – Dow Jones , S&P 500 and NASDAQ go for another bullish close.

Market review – Mon, Mar 11th ,2013: The major indexes Dow Jones, S&P 500 and NASDAQ started the day in the negative territory, and posted modest losses. But, the early sell-off quickly dried out, and the indexes start working on the recovery process, right away. The Dow Jones and S&P 500 rallied up, but it took a while for the NASDAQ to join with them. The indexes slowly, but steadily accumulated the gains as the trading session progressed. There were occasional reactions. But, they were tight and orderly. All three indexes added mild gains for the day, but saw a bullish close as they ended day, at the intraday highs.

Volume: The trading volume slightly edged up both in the NYSE and NASDAQ stock exchange and came in heavier than Friday’s level. But, it still came in less than the 50 day moving average volume levels, though.

Growth stocks: The leading growth stocks from our watch list managed to stay put for the day. Though, the heavy volume decliners dominated in the early going, the gainers gained the upper hand in the afternoon. The number of stocks that gained in price also outpaced the decliners in the afternoon, in our Top 250 – Growth stock daily heat map, as well.

Recap: The indexes had another slow, but solid accumulation day. All three indexes ended the day at their 52 weeks high. The Dow Jones saw another record closing high. The S&P 500 is moving towards making a record new high. The leading growth stocks also didn’t give up much ground, today. It would have been nice, if the trading volume increased a bit more. So, the rally is making nice head way. So, just trade on side of it, and reap the benefits.
