09/14/2012 – Dow Jones , S&P 500 and NASDAQ build up gains as volume picks up.

In today’s (09/14/12) stock market recap, let’s analyze the key actions of the major indexes Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), S&P 500(SPX) and NASDAQ Composite (COMP).All three indexes witnessed a positive start and continued the upward momentum from yesterday. They logged nice gains and made fresh new multiyear highs within hour or so into the trading selling. However, the enthusiasm started to fade after that and the indexes were on a modest selling pressure, rest of the day. The indexes ceded some ground, but never priced in red. Though, the selling pressure at the Dow Jones and S&P 500 was little severe , NASDAQ somehow put together a stiff resistance. With the help of a last minute push, the indexes closed the day with modest gains, and NASDAQ outperformed for the day.

Trading volume picked up pace in both NYSE and NASDAQ stock exchanges and came in heavier than yesterday’s level.

Leading growth stocks from our watch list had another good day, today as number of heavy volume gainers led the day. But, still noticeable number of leaders made it to the decliners list, as well.

The indexes witnessed another accumulation day, today. Though, the selling pressure took little luster out of the day, but it’s not that bad when we take yesterday’s whopping gains into account. Many of the leading growth stocks not only already broke out, but also they extend in price now. So, we are looking for new leaders to add it to our “Stock Picks” list. But, still handful of stocks are trading “With In Buying Range” and you can consider them for your buys.

They “Market Rally” appears to be strong, now. So, just go with the flow and trade along the side of the rally.
