09/18/2012 – Dow Jones , S&P 500 and NASDAQ end mixed, so the volume.

In today’s (09/18/12) stock market recap, let’s analyze the key actions of the major indexes Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), S&P 500(SPX) and NASDAQ Composite (COMP).All three indexes had negative start and posted modest losses, at the open. But, they staged an immediate counter rally and recouped the losses, right away. Dow Jones even add some gains. But, the indexes ceded the ground to a reaction which lasted at most to the final hour. But, a 11th hour rally helped Dow Jones to close in green and S&P 500 and NASDAQ in red, but flat for the day.

Trading volume came in lower or flat in the NYSE stock exchange , but picked up pace in the NASDAQ than yesterday’s level. As NASDQ ended flat, no “Distribution Day” there.

Leading growth stock from our active watch list pretty much had a washout day, today. Though, more number of leaders posted losses, the number of heavier volume gainers still came in almost even.

The indexes over all had another constructive action day, today. Tough, they ceded the ground at the open, but ended flat for the day. It would have been nice, if the volume cooled off little bit in the NASDAQ stock exchange. But, most importantly, there was no “Distribution Day”. Secondly, the indexes continue to hold on to the recent gains. The pullback among the leading growth stocks is nothing but healthy. So, analyze your watch list and use this opportunity to get on to the leaders, if you have missed them in the original “Breakout”.
