09/17/2012 – Dow Jones , S&P 500 and NASDAQ pullback, so the volume.

In today’s (09/17/12) stock market recap, let’s analyze the key actions of the major indexes Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), S&P 500(SPX) and NASDAQ Composite (COMP).). All three indexes started the day in the negative territory and stayed under the water pretty much all day. The pullback was orderly and soft in the Dow Jones and S&P 500. It was little severe in NASDAQ , but a last minute push, helped the index to close along the lines of the other two indexes. At the end of the day all three of them posted between -0.2% and -0.3% losses.

Trading volume receded in both NYSE and NASDAQ stock exchanges and came in lower than Friday’s level. The low volume turnover helped Dow Jones and S&P 500 to avoid a “Distribution Day”, even though they posted over -0.2% losses. NASDAQ closed safe for the day, so there in no distribution either.

Leading growth stock from our watch list over had not a bad day, today. Though, heavy volume decliners led the day, still decent number of leading growth stocks made it to the heavy volume gainers, list.

The indexes had a very constructive trading day, today. They staged an orderly pullback, as they digested the last week whopping gains. Volume also dipped which added more meaning to the pullback. Some of the leaders from our “Stock Picks” list witnessed pullback as well. Again volume dipped there too. The distribution day count still stays at very low level.

So, use these kinds of meaningful pullback days to get long on the leading growth stocks or pyramid your positions, in case your prior buys show profits.
